I have 3 children ages 8, 5 and 2. Various issues with my 8 year old are leading me to searching for alternative schooling. i need help on finding a Waldorf school in my area(or any resources in my area). Zip code 10998. If nothing is available, I still need some help on steps i need to take to learn how to home school my children(two of whom already attend public school)
I am nervous and dont know where to start.

Yes and yes! Especially to the family rhythm idea... This was something my family always ignored till about the middle of the school year (instead, we'd try to stick to whatever set schedule we'd determined at the beginning of the year) and I think we would have been a lot more productive -- and less stressed! -- if we'd just tuned into our natural rhythms from the start.

Something else I find helpful at the beginning of each year is to revisit the "end in mind." Things seem to fall into place so much more easily if you know where you're going from the start.

As a side note, I've been enjoying a bunch of your archived posts. Would you be interested in writing a guest post for homeschool101.net? It'd link back to your site, of course, and could be on any subject related to homeschooling and how you approach it. If so, feel free to shoot me a line via the Contact Us page on the site (it's the most guaranteed way of getting in touch). I'd love to have you write for us!
